Some priorities for Nevadans

Craig Bergland submitted a few priorities that I thought were worth sharing:

1. Working on getting Nevadans a MINIMUM 30 day food supply and water supply in the event of sudden oil shock.

2. Creating a Nevada State bank as is found in North Dakota. A REAL state-owned bank that won’t rip us all off for year end bonuses.

3. Using open software for Nevada as opposed to Microsoft fees and etc.

Petition Signatures!

20 February 2010

We’ve submitted the necessary petition signatures to the Secretary of State in Nevada and anticipate obtaining ballot access some time next month in the Governor race as the Green Party NV candidate.

In March, I will be moving to the Emergency Arts location on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas.

Key advisers, in multiple States are assisting with both the formation of platform responses and assembling the County leaders for the campaign.

(one can see whom these key advisers are on the Facebook Group called Curtis4governor)

I am making my key campaign decisions in the light of day, while other candidates hide behind their office doors.

As a third party candidate, one of the primary monetary habits to overcome is and will be the corporate media and their blind spot to third candidates in general.

Nevada, since it is a non-traditional State, may be uniquely positioned to lessen this blind-spot aspect.

98% of voters disapprove of the incumbent Congress.

The sitting Governor is not popular. The Major Party candidates are not well liked. The economy is in very bad condition. All of these imply that the timing is good for an alternate voice.

We are of the opinion that Nevada needs actual leadership, in a clear and serious way. We cannot afford four more years of Republican leadership in Nevada. We cannot settle for a former Federal judge, whom was summoned to Nevada by unknown forces.  We also cannot afford to install a Democrat merely out of cult reverence for a celebrity President or habitual loyalty to a Native Senator blood line.

I ask voters to read the actual proposals we put forth, and honestly decide whom they believe will make the best choices on their behalf.

I was both shocked and delighted to receive two competing architecture gigs this week. I wrapped up both today and now resume focus on the campaign.

I also learned today that I am short-listed as an artist on what will be an extremely high-profile public art commission in downtown Las Vegas. I am very pleased and honored to have the opportunity.
