A letter to voters

Get a sneak peak at the letter that’s going out to voters!

Hello.  My name is David Curtis.  I’m a native Nevadan and the Green Party candidate for Governor of Nevada in the November election.  I am running for Governor because our state is hurting, and there are some structural changes we can make to pull ourselves out of this great recession…

Greens support reforms that give communities more control over their local economies.  We call for a community-based economics whose aim is local prosperity and self-sufficiency.  We support conservative budgets that prioritize community rejuvenation and end wasteful spending.

Did you know that the next Governor of Nevada needs to cut $3billion from the annual budget?  Why are we closing parks?  Our children should have the opportunity to play in fun playgrounds and go to excellent, safe public schools.

I am proud to be a Green Party candidate because Greens are independent.  We do not have a generational party machine that funds and mobilizes us.  We do not take money from corporations.

Greens run mom and pop shops. We rely on donations from individual voters.  Please donate what you can today.  Give online at www.curtis4governor.com (click here) or mail a check.

Greens offer welcome relief to the divided major party candidates whose major strategy seems to be bashing the guy in the lead.  And if elected, they focus on constructing obstacles to the majority party agenda items.

We should not anoint Brian Sandoval to the position out of some reverence for his judicial resume.  It makes little sense to me that we should replace a failed republican governor with another republican.

On the Democratic side, Rory Reid has a last name problem.  Which I think is a little silly, I hope voters get past the name thing and focus on Rory’s record as commissioner, both good and bad.

On August 2nd, I’m going on a road trip in a turquoise HHR car.  I’m going to visit each County in Nevada to meet with voters in person.

Will you help us raise $5,000 to support the Curtis4Governor road trip?  Will you make a contribution of whatever you can afford to part with?  You can mail me a check or pay at www.curtis4governor.com

If you’ve questions or concerns you’d like to see me address, please feel free to call 702-475-3885 or email me personally at davidscurtis@earthlink.net.

Best regards,

P.S. Please consider volunteering for the campaign.  We need in particular help organizing a statewide phone bank.
